The client is barely able to walk because of severe lower back pain. Continuous spasm is distorting the spine into temporary scoliosis.

Pain free after one McCarthy Method session, the client is able to resume work as normal.

Head forward position, approx. 45 degrees from the vertical. Ribcage is rotated down and inward, causing flattening of the upper chest.

Forward tilting pelvis causing protruding tummy and lordosis in lower back.

After one treatment, head position is close to normal and upper chest has filled out. Client given simple exercises to maintain correct posture.

After one treatment. Client shown simple manoeuvre to reverse tilting of pelvis and pull tummy in without tensing abdominal muscles.

Acquired lateral spinal curve caused by chronic tension and shortening of paraspinal muscles.

76 year old unable to reach past knees, owing to chronic shortening of lower back muscles.

After three treatments. Muscles relaxed and lengthened, allowing spine to resume correct alignment with occasional follow up.

After one treatment. Muscles are relaxed and lengthened, allowing client to touch floor.
